Fun Date, Fun Day!!!

That's right! BAMMM!!

Well, about a week and 1/2 ago Tyson and I went on a super awesome fun day date. It was on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Matt's favorite holiday), and it really was a blast! First we went to Wal-Mart (exciting huh!!!) and we bought a little plastic sled for $7. Then we drove up the canyon a little ways and found the perfect spot for snow sledding! I did most of the sledding, because Tyson's weight hindered the sled from going down very quickly (if at all) :) Ha ha, what do you expect, it's a child's sled!! I was lucky to even make it down on it! Also, neither one of us had "Real" snow clothes (I left my home in LaVerkin) so by the time we were finished, we were both soaked and on the verge of frost bite! I did, however, have a wonderfully warm coat that protected the upper half of my body (thanks Matt and Kim :) Anyway, after returning from the mountain we changed into warm, dry clothes, ate lunch, then set off to go shooting! That was also tons of fun! Tyson has a really good shot, and he hardly missed a target! I was really embarrassed because I wasn't even remotely close to hitting any of the targets, until I realized that I wasn't using the aiming guidelines built on to the gun, so once I figured that out I was ripping it up!! Yep, so then we went home, ate dinner and watched the news! Ha ha, I know that sounds kind of lame, but it really was a fun day for us!

Just admit it.... we're awesome!!!

Hey guys!! I bet you all thought you'd never see me up-date this thing again!! Well, don't worry, Nikki (along with many others) reminded me that I'm way past due on up-dating it!! These past couple of weeks have been crazy with Welcome Back Week and SUU Idol, which has pretty much consumed my entire being!! But, the good news is, it's finally over!!! Yay!!! I gotta say though, it was a lot of fun and well worth the hard work! We started off the week with giving away free stuff, hosting the Dash 4 Cash at the Women's Basketball Half-time, held auditions for SUU Idol on Tues. Night (We had 20 people compete and lot's of people just there to watch) a dance afterward, Wednesday we had the first official round of SUU Idol at noon then brought a Comedian in for the evening activity and passed out free subs, Thurs. we had the second round of SUU Idol at noon, and then set up for a drive-in movie with hot chocolate and cider later that night. Yesterday was the last day of Welcome Back Week where we had the final round for SUU Idol!! It was great! After that we served free pizza before opening up the 'Mentalist' show. We had a mentalist come and perform last night, and he read minds and moved tables and spoons with his 'mind's energy'..... Kind of like Matilda...... Anyway, I don't really believe any of that crap, but it was still fun to watch :) And it was a big success!! The Ballroom was nearly full! So I'm feeling pretty good about the outcome of the Welcome Back Week! Unfortunately I never took any pictures :( But I am going to post some pictures I have from Christmas and Thanksgiving Break, so I hope you enjoy!!!

CHRISTMAS!!!!

These pictures were taken at the Jubilee of Trees Festival in St. George. It was actually taken back in November, so that just goes to show how bad I am at keeping up with this thing!

The Jubilee of Trees!!!

This is me and my adorable niece Krissia! This was taken Christmas Eve right after Nikki gave
that sweet christmas devotional! We both were crying after that....Thanks a lot Nic!! J/k :)

Krissia is so pretty!!! My face looks fat! Ha ha

Too bad we couldn't get Jaylee to stay for any of the pictures!! The cow costume I made for her was so cute!!! Oh well :)

I love all of my nieces and nephews so much!!!

Tyson helped me put this Christmas tree up in my apartment...... I didn't have many decorations, but it still worked out ok!! I was just glad to have one. However, I didn't have a star, and I asked him to make one for me.... so I gave him what I had from my scrapbooking collection and he came up with this! Isn't it nice? :)

My Tree!! (Tyson made the star! Nice huh :)

My Apartment Decorations (Thanks Mom :)

I didn't have much to work with, but I was grateful anyway for the decorations Mom provided me with!!! I still need to take them down......

Trip To Spokane

Hey guys! Well I just got back early this morning from Spokane Washington! I and a few others (Kylee, Jessica, Andrea, Jesse, Tyson, Deniece and Angie) from the Student Activities Board (STAB) were able to fly out there last Wednesday and participate in the NACA West Conference. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, let me break it down for you: Um....well I forgot what NACA stands for...but basically what it is is performers from all over the country come and perform for the universities on the West Coast trying to get us to hire them for our campus activities. The performer(s) have about 10-15 minutes to showcase their act. So for three straight days we sat through myriads of acts - from singers/songwriters, bands, def poetry readings, comedians, magicians, hypotists - you name it! It was a lot of fun, but it was also very tiring! We didn't have a whole lot of time to enjoy Spokane itself, but we did manage to take a couple of pictures here and there in between our lunch breaks and such. While I was able to see many talented acts (not to mention some very funny comedians), I'm super glad to be home :) I hope you all enjoy the pics!

Quirky List

Thanks Leesh for tagging me :) I hope that you will all get a kick out of my little quirky habits....although I'm sure most of these will not come as a surprise to those of you who know me really well :) Here it goes....(in no particular order)

(#8) For some reason I don't like to take showers. Don't worry, I subsitute them for baths instead. That may not seem very interesting or quirky, but in all honesty 99% of the time I take baths instead of showers - even when washing my hair - I will lie down and put my head under the bath water, shampoo it, then let it fill up and soak while I condition my hair. Then I drain the water and turn the faucet back on and rinse. Even if I don't wash my hair I still bath every day - if I'm in a hurry, I simply sit under the running water as I soap myself down - or if I have time to kill, I will fill up the tub and soak for awhile.

(#7) I like to pick and pluck things. I will often take tweezers to my legs and pluck my leg hairs in hopes of pulling out some in-grown hairs. Also, I am constantly picking at my arms, legs, face...you name it. If there is the slightest detection of a bump, I will pick at it to see if anything comes out of it. It's gross I know, but for some reason it fascinates me. I love to pick blackheads off of other people's backs (family and close friends), and it has drove my past boyfriends crazy, and continues to drive Tyson crazy today!

(#6) Television bugs me. For some strange reason, I can not sit down in front of the tv and finish a show. I got out of the habit of watching tv, and now I can't get back in. I don't have the patience to finish the shows and sit through the commercials. The only tv program I finish from start to end and have been watching habitually is the 9:00 news. I will watch CSI, the Discovery Channel, or World's Greatest Police Chases from time to time, but I don't keep track of what time they air or anything..... if I happen to stumble upon it, I will stop and watch some or most of it - but rarely do I ever sit in front of the tv and browse through the channels to see what's on.

(#5) When I don't feel like going running, but still want to exercise, I will lock my door to my room, turn on some upbeat music and dance for about half an hour. I will dance for a couple of songs, then stop and target a specific area (arms, calves, abs, butt...) then start dancing again. I can remember some dances from my cheerleading days and the Acclamation show, so I will do those that I can still remember, or I will just go crazy doing my own thing!

(#4) I'm always combining candies. I love to eat candy, especially hard candy - but I can't just have one piece of candy in my mouth - have to be sucking on two of something most of the time. If I am sucking on a cinnamon disc, I like to have a butterscotch disc in my mouth as well. If there is a candy dish with both cinnamon and butterscotch discs I will pick an equal amount of each out and simultaneously suck on cinnamon and butterscotch discs throughout the day. I love the combination! Sometimes I will also pick tootsie rolls and wintergreen lifesavers out of my dad's candy bucket and eat the tootsie roll and the lifesaver at the same time. Sounds gross, but it's actually not that bad....

(#3) I can't just take notes, I have to be utilizing my pen the whole time I have it, so usually my notes look really dressed up with designs or simply scribbled all over. I go crazy when I go to a class or a meeting and I don't have paper and a pen. It's near impossible for me to focus unless I'm jotting down notes and doodling at the same time - otherwise I just sit and pretend that I'm all eyes and ears, but go home not remembering a word that was said. It may seem like it would be difficult to pay attention when I'm doodling, but in actuality I'm writing down what's being said in an artistic way.

(#2) I love cereal. I can eat bowls of cereal anytime anywhere. Sometimes I will have it as a snack, or sometimes I will have it for dinner. I think I just like taste of things sopped in milk, because sometimes it's not just cereal that I crave, but more something sweet with milk. I will constitute a bowl of cereal for a bowl of Teddy Grahms, Mini Vanilla Wafers, Gram Crackers, Cookies, you name it - I just pour it in, saturate it with milk, and eat it like it's cereal.

(#1) Sometimes I try to time myself on certain things, without counting, and make a game out of it. For example, when I hang up my cell phone, I will try to NOT look at the screen again until the light on the screen turns off. If I look at it and the light is still on, then I get really bugged and try to do it again, this time trying to estimate my timing better (without actually counting). Or, if the clock says 12:43 I will look up and try not to look at it until it says 12:44. Once again, if I look at it before it changes to 12:44, I get really bugged and try to do it again. Weird, I know.
